I have a set of 15 in FS Rolnal r2 wheels on my 73 914 I just acquired, I am thinking of going with the black stock wheels for this car. I cannot however find much info on the wheels I own now, would be willing to sell or trade, just the wheels, tires are no good.

Check the backspace on the wheels; if it is less than 4" they are originally Bug wheels. Bug wheels will limit the amount of tire you can fit under the rear fender, making anything wider than about 165 width rub on one rear fender or the other.
I do like the look of them! --DD

I am in the same boat, posted a couple of weeks ago about it..same rims, they look awesome on car but no choices for 165's so moving to other rims as well..These rims are really popular with VW owners and hoping to find a home for mine that way. Good luck and let us know what rims you go with, I am still deciding between 4 lug Fuchs and Minilites......

IMHO the 4 lug Fuchs are the best wheels out there for the 914, light, strong and they fit.
5 lug conversion opens up a lot of choices though
