I have a 1971 914 and need to replace the ignition switch, the steering column on this year doesnt allow me to get behind and pull the wiring off of the ignition switch. Do you know the process to remove it?

Good question, I cannot remember where the connector is. I opened a post in our forums. A Pelican community member may be able to answer your question.

You cant replace the switch on a 70-71 because no one make the part. The 72-76 switch will not fit. You may be able to find an NOS switch $$$$ or a good used one.
70-71 switches are very rare now. Many guys are swapping out the entire column since the switch is NLA.
