911 struts and hubs?
Hey guys..About a month or so ago I bought a '74 911 front end for $250.
This included very ggod condition struts, very good condition calipers, caliper harware, and adj Koni shocks. I thought all I needed was new rotors. Well to my suprise, it now seems the 911 front end uses hubs??? What is the going price for hubs and did I get hosed? Thanks ![]()

Well, you do need the aluminum hubs, grease caps, and bolts to attach the rotor. Hopefully you can find a set for a decent price - FYI 944s use the same.

That is a good deal, esp if they are "A" or "S" struts (3.5" spacing) but usually the 911 setups are sold with the hubs/rotors/studs and everything all bolted together.
Do you have bare struts & standalone calipers, or the whole front-end?

I have the stand alone struts, calipers, shocks. I think they are M style.
![]() So the 944 shares the same hubs and hardware? Hummm. Any years I should stay with? Thanks Kerry

Yeah, just wheel bearings out. Only the hub and rotor matches between 911 and 944, but that's all you need and the 944 people might not be as proud ($$) of their parts. '83 to '86
Any 911 ('65 to '89) hubs will work also. |

Thanks. I'll keep any eye out on the 944 board and 911 board for hubs and hardware.
It never endsssssssssssssss ![]() Kerry

Kerry,
Make sure your strut spindles have the little spacer rings mounted (the first thing that goes on the spindles). These rings are press fitted. Ask me how I know. Phil |

I found a set of 87's from a 944? Does anyone know if they will fit struts of a 911 '74 vintage?
Thanks

In '87 the wheel offset on the 944s changed - the classic fuchs (as used on 911s and '83 to '86 944s) won't fit on an '87 or later 944. I would think the hubs would be different. My educated guess would say keep looking.

Thanks.. I'll have to pass on the '87 hubs. They were a good deal too
![]() How about 914/6 hubs? I assume they will fit the '74 911 struts.
