Engine color paint question
When painting the engine cover should I paint the area under the black grill the same color as the car or do I paint it black. I've seen it both ways. What is the original factory paint scheme for this. OBTW, if you follow my saga I painted my car last weekend and hated the color, tonight I start the re-paint process, I'm spraying it the original L-13M Saturn Yellow. From silver to yellow, it will take a few coats of basecoat! But I know I'll like it better!

The engine lid on my red 76 is satin black under the grill. I checked this after this question was raised in a previous thread. This is the original paint, so at least the later cars came from the factory this way.

My '73 has Zambezi under the grill. I bet it's one of those 70-74 vs 75-76 things.

Paint it Black!
Not sure which is factory correct--I've bought cars both ways--but it IMHO it doesn't matter. To me it looks *much* better black, especially with a bright color like yellow. Post some pics when you're done!
