Power window trouble

I have an odd problem with my passenger side window. You can let the windows down on the passenger side using either the control switch on the passenger side or the drivers side. WHen you go to let the window up "using either control switch" the window does nothing. The motor in the windows does not
even start. My brother managed to get the windows up by attaching a wire directly from the battery to the switch. Any ides what's causing this?

Check your switches. Some times the contacts inside get dirty, and cause them not to work. Or it could be the switches are bad. When these cars get old, it takes more juice to move the windows, and some times it's more than the switches can handle, and it burns the contacts. When you clean/replace the switches, take the time to pull the door panels and lube the widow mechanisms, it might prolong the window motor, and the switches.

I agree, just fixed this problem on mine today, also worth checking the connections from the wiring loom to the motor, mine were corroded causing a high resistance connection which was burning the swith contacts out, cleaning the connections and the switch contacts have solved the problems, while you have the door panel off, lube the mechanism and the glass slide rails in the door, sure speeds up the time it takes for the window to close

good luck
