<944> Dead Engine Speed Sensor?
Gruppe:
My 1987 944 NA will crank, but not start. There is no spark (grounded the plug while cranking the engine). Fuel is fine though I have no checked pressure. New fuel pump and unplugging the rail at the front end indicates there is fuel at the rail under pressure. I measured the resistance from center to rear-side pin of both sensors. Reference is 940 ohm and speed is 3 mega-ohm. Does that mean the speed sensor is dead? Center to forward pin (ground) is open on both. Is a used sensor the way to go? The new sensor appears to be around $100. Thanks in advance! <944> Dead Engine Speed Sensor?
Rob:
Thanks! I'll order a used sensor tomorrow from Part Heaven. BTW, what size wheels are those on your car? 18". I'm contemplating a similar purchase for my 87 NA. Neil Deshpande |
