Going Price for rebuilding 951 Engine

I am looking at getting my engine rebuilt because I have a small ring leak or at least I think so. Will find out about that next week. Anyway, Has anyone had there 951 rebuilt lately and how much did it cost?
Thanks
Thom

Depends on the quality of the rebuild, an how many modifications you want to make during it.

I'm currently looking at a $6-10K rebuild but you could probably do a totally stock rebuild for $3-4K.

BTW a 650hp motor costs about $20K

I've never seen a 650hp 944 motor. 500hp I've seen though. 350hp seems to be a popular HP range too.

I think your estimate is a little low. Broadfoot Racing quotes about $30k for a 600hp dry-sumped 3.0 liter 944 Turbo engine.

Though they had a freshly rebuilt 2.5 liter 951 race engine listed on Rennlist a while back for $8000.
