Heater problem
1986 944 all of a sudden blows hot air all the time. Fairly new AC.

There is a small plastic piece which has probably come off or is now broken and needs to be replaced on the control system. Located just to the right of your gas pedal inside the housing (the driver side foot well in the ventilation linkage).
If you use the SEARCH function on this forum, there is a very good procedure that is posted. As mentioned, Clarks-Garage is also very good. Good luck. ![]()

Man, its a pain to work under the dash on these 944's...If you are a big 277lb dude like me its expecially difficult, lol!

I have had to take the driver's seat out and then, lie on the floor with feet up on the back seat.
I know right, Porsche did not make anything easy to work on in any of its car since the 356.

Searching through a few old threads it looks like others have had similar issues. As others have noted Clarks Garage has a pretty detailed breakdown. If the clip and rod support are required for the repair it looks like they are available:
