Need a fast answer, Turbo gauge, where to connect???
Hi, need a fast answer.
I'm just about to go and get my turbo gauge and I'm unsure where to connect it to. It has an "vacum" scale also, so I would like to install it AFTER the throttle. Before the throttle I know where to install it, but after, I'm unsure. Have any of you any ideas, which hose I could "jump"! Its a 924 Turbo, -79. Thanx /Smile

I have one in the shop, I'll take a look this afternoon for you. Basically it has to be from a port on the intake manifold behind the throttle body so it will get the vacuum and boost. I don't recall any ports though, which is probably your problem. There is a temp sensor but you really shouldn't move it. Hmmm, again, I'll take a look.

there is a nipple coming off behind the throttle body or on the throttle body but its after the butterfly so it will read manifold vacuum and pressure, thats where i hooked up mine, good luck

The instruction for the gauge is to either drill a hole in the intake manifold or to use a vacum line.
Drilling a hole, I 'll not do that :-) I first tried to use the vacum line from tthe intake which goes to the distributor, but the conection/hole from the manifold is so tiny, so the gauge didnt read and pressure. Only vacum. So I tried another hosewhich also is connected to the brake...... Now I get a reading, but only top. 0.5bar. It should be 0.7-0.8. The question now is, am I to far from the intake to get the correct reading or is the turbo/wastegate "bad"? Any ideas?

How about to put a T coupling between the intake and the wastegate!?
I wont get any vacum reading, but the pressure reading should be very accurate. I think this is how its suppose to be done, or? I just a little bit affraide, if the T coupling break, I will have a turbo running to heaven. What do you say, should I go for the wastegate hose?
