relay question: any diagrams/knowledge?
well i found the DME relay and it was fried. i also have 2 slots for relays that are completely empty (the two left most on the bottom row). i also completely destroyed another relay and i dont know what its for. it was from the bottom row of relays second from the right. it says:
477 955 531A SWF GERMANY JGE 601.387 12V on the diagram it lists terminals 53S, 15, 52M, 31, and S. and for future refernce does anyone know of any relay/fuse diagrams. the schematics in the haynes are lacking for this sort of trouble.

I was told that the Haynes diagrams are exact reprints of the factory manuales. I am not sure if this is true though.
Here is a link to the current flow diagrams on Pelican. http://www.pelicanparts.com/944/electrical/944_electrical_diagrams.htm

it shows the relays, and where they are in the circuit but i cant figure out where those relays (or fuses) physically go on the relay board (or fuse box).

The Haynes for my 81 924 has a picture of the relays and fuse board. The names are printed on the bottom of the page.

Just rebuilt the computer (AGAIN!!!, damnit) so I don't have the magic software of all seeing knowledge loaded yet (Porsche Elektroniche Teilungskatalog)
That said, a 477, series part number is a VW part - should be available at any parts store or a VW dealer cheap. AFJuvat

Bad memory.
Fry's is selling a cheepo LEGACY ELECTRONICS memory. Had two out of five go bad and may be working on the third of five. Going to have to pay the extra and get KINGSTON memory. They are local so I can be a real pest IF when. For the early 944's Pelican has links to the correct diagrams and yes there are intentionally empty sockets. Or try Clark's Garage (search the messages here).
