HELP! ENGINE PROBLEM!!!

I've read in a bulletin that this was extremely rare too (oil pressure relief valves going bad).

However mine did go back sometime last year, I pulled it out (which was the hardest part of the whole process), cleaned it and got it a little smoother, and put it back in. This was over 20k ago, haven't had problems since.

Mine had a piece of crud in it, looked like a piece of lint covered with oil, that must've hardened there. I'm guessing this happened when somebody put a rug where the oil filter bolts on when they were changing the oil...

There's an updated part, and the original thing isn't being made anymore. I haven't heard any of the newer ones going bad, but they're $200+ if I remember correctly.

You might wanna pull yours out clean/reuse it, OR get one from another car/Porsche dismantler.

The process isn't hard, and I CAN help you if you decide to change your oil pressure relief valve yourself. (If so, go pick up a strong "tool pick up tool", which is a strong/small magnet, at the tip of what looks like an antena. This is what I used to get the valve unstuck. This tool, lots of WD-40, light tapping, and cranking the engine (with the ignition coil disconnected. If this doesn't work, you're gonna have to pull the oil/water cooler, which is much bigger of a job than the 30-40 min relief valve pull alone).
