what else should i check while tranny is out?

hi,

i just pulled out the tranny for a rebuild. what esle should i check?

my mechanic says its a good idea to check the clutch, but that sounds like alot of work and it was replace about 30K ago with a spring-centered version.

how long does it take to check the clutch with a visual inspection. bear in mind that it took me about 6-8hrs to pull out the tranny, and im still learning and obviously very slow at this point.
