I've been having the follwoing problem.
On my 1987 924s warm air comes through the interior LEFT side vents with the A/C on and with the car in motion. I am suspecting the fresh air flap that should shut when the A/C is turned on. Does anyone know where this flap is? Is there a vacuum line to it? How does it open to let fresh air in? Thanks in advance. -Jordan |

does it happen when it's cold outside and the a/c is on?
(is it the heater or is it fresh air?) ------------------ Chris 90 944 S2 Cabriolet |

This is what happens.
When it is warm out and I have the A/C on, fresh outside air is forced through the vents when the car is in motion. If I turn on the heat with the A/C on, heat will come out of the left side vents, while cold air will come out of the right side vents. My dad has the same year 924s; when he has the a/c on, only cold air is blown from the vents regardless of the heat selector. Mine doesn't, as I am getting a mix of fresh/heated air and a/c. I know that the 924/944's a/c only runs in recirc mode. I am almost certain that the flap that controls fresh intake is not shutting, letting in warmer outside air. Does anyone know where this flap is or how it works? Are there vacuum lines to it? Thanks again in advance. |

I don't have any experience with the 924 but I think it is different that what I have. I have a 944 S2 with climate control so it's probably very different as far as fresh air goes, but I think you should be getting hot dry air when you have A/C and heat turned on, mostly for defog/defrost purposes.
Good luck. ------------------ Chris 90 944 S2 Cabriolet |

Check the fuse. I blew the fuse (I think #17) on my 944 and it made it blow hot air all of the time.
