87 924S. I enjoyed my car about two months. The other day, it suddenly lost all the coolant. Got towed back home.
Today I was trying to fix it. Put water in and bleed. When I started the engine, I found that the coolant did not circulate at all. The upper cooling system has high pressure and no pressure on lower level. I guess it is thermostat or water pump problem. Could someone here please give me some advises? Many thanks Eugene |

Hi Eugene, I was wondering how the coolant came out, possibly from the lower coolant hose slipping off the waterpump ? if so i would replace all the hoses that have gotten oil on them, any hose that has had oil soaking it will not grip when it gets hot the oil will bleed out of the rubber, this is especially true of the lower rad hose as it is next to the oil filter and usually gets oil spilled on it........anyway i would replace the thermostate, and refill the coolant with the Phosphate free stuff it is orange this will let the radiator last longer, and is also better for the aluminum block and head as it is less likly that deposits will form..............Stan |
