Can anyone tell me the proper procedure for setting the idle speed for the 944 Turbo?
The Haynes manual tells me to take the car to my dealer. This won't do. I like to do as much to my car as I can. Thanks, Threesticks. |

Manual has some complicated procedure using a CO meter because the CO level has to be set first. Then set to 840 rpm plus or minus 20.
The idle speed is controlled by the little brass screw on the top center of the throttle body housing. I would put some thread locker on it (weak variety) because they tend to move by themselves. Mine came completely out once but remained on throttle body. Lucky...... If you want I could fax factory pages to you on Monday.
