We have the useless ethanol additive and our prices run around $1.60! Maybe the Governator has slipped in a little budget-balancer without telling anyone.

Won't bring the price down. Domestic production costs averages around $10 a barrel, with Alaska being on the high end. Production from ANWR will cost much more. Saudi production is estimated to cost them around 80 cents a barrel. They can profit in any market, where domestic production only makes economic sense when the price per barrel is high. May as well drain their resources first.

They are talking about increasing the state gasoline excise tax.

Things here are really going to get tense when the $18 billion bond bail out is defeated at the polls come March.

Not only left coast but many states across the US too. Ethanol is another corporate welfare scam fostered by envira-whackos and ADM.

Brie please!

So how do you steer a bull?

I say get used to the rising prices. Oil is a non-renewable resource. The price is always going to go up.

Not necessarily. Geologists are finding that old capped off wells are "refilling". Seems that a lot of what constitutes oil is primal methane from the formation of the solar system. This was captured when the earth formed and is constantly creeping toward the surface.

Maybe there's still some natural creation of fossil fuels going on but no chance the rate even remotely approaches that of human consumption. No way. Negligible, if at all. Doesn't make any logical sense. Besides, the oil companies would have made that argument long ago if this were true (or probably even if it isn't and they thought the public was stupid enough to buy it).

I understand that 6 of the 11 refineries that supply the west are currently out of commission for unknown reasons??? Also the costs of shipping fuel on the ships are costing the oil companies 4 times what they did two years ago.. What doesnt make sense is the oil companies provide their own ships and charge the parent company for shipping?? So they charge themselves more now that before..Sure makes a lot of sense..Sounds like Enron..
