Early oxygen sensor installation

I just installed a new O2 sensor on my 83.

7/8ths long handled wrench.

$20 universal one-wire o2 sensor from bosch

Warmed car up

Put on ramps

Twisted old sensor off easily

Cut old wire

Crimped and heatshrunk new wire on

Tightened her in

Done deal..

That had to be the easiest job I have ever done on the early...sorry for you late and 951 guys.

Early guys....GET ON OUT THERE AND CHANGE THOSE O2 SENSORS!!

BTW- car ran a little rough for the first few minutes post o2.

THEN

My stumble at 3300-4300 under load is GONE.....??????
With all my research I have yet to hear that one. I will have to drive tommorow more and see if it is really true.

I'll second the easiness of the O2 sensor installation - at least until my only cigarette lighter i was using for the heat shrink run out of gas and i had to use matches which kept on blowing out in the wind - hrmph!

Do they carry that at autozone or some place similar?

I got mine from Kragen - Bosch 11027 for my non-California car. The non-Ca cars have just a single wire and the Ca cars have three - it will be worth having a quick look down at the exhaust pipe from under the hood to see which one you need before you buy one.
