Hi Folks,
I just got a Weltmeister throttle response cam for my 86' 944 NA. But the installation iinstructions is a very poor photocopy which makes it very hard to read. Does anyone have these instructions handy? I know this is suppose to be a straightforward installation but I want to make sure I don't mess anything up (ie. the throttle cable). Thanks much! I dont have them handy but its really hard to mess it up, Just unbolt the old one and bolt on the new one, When finished make sure the cable is adjusted right.

How do I adjust the cable? Do I just re-adjust the two 13 mmm jam nuts ? What about the throttle pedal itself?
Thanks again... Humberto- |

There is an stop just behind the gas pedal. It has to be adjusted to account for the shorter throttle cam. This will decrease undo stress on the throttle cable.

It was in the set of instructions that came with mine. The stop is brought up due to the gas pedal travel being shortened.

Makes sense otherwise one can break the cable...How did you shortened the cable though?

Just adjust the nuts on the cable. Also when you adjust the pedal stops, its alot easier to have a buddy watch to make sure when you push the pedal down that the throttle body is opening all the way.

why did you spend money on the response cam when you can make it yourself with the old factory one?

i believe you turn it upside down and backwards, and drill a new hole for the mount... and then the angle is the same as the welmeiser cam.
This was covered awhile back here... wish i could remember the thread.
