To rebuild, or not to rebuild: Advice needed.
Ok guys this winter im taking apart an engine out of an 87 that i had with 120k miles. Now im going to put it into another car where it will probably be in service for about a year and a half to 2 years. The question is, im doing all the gaskets for the engine, should I do anythign else while im in there. I know i need to do the belts and should probably do the water pump as the motor as been sitting for 2 years, but is there anything else i should do? While im in there should i take the extra little bit of time and do the piston rings? Keep in mind the engine will be used for 2 years, and will be replaced after that. Any advice you can give me is great. Thanks

A compresion test will tell you. I've done a freshen up a few times. Just hone and stock rings. It can cause unexpexted problems and Id wished I'd left it alone.
