Could Bad Reference Sensors...
Or ones on their way out maybe 1 out of 2, could cause my car to shut down while driving or idling?

Yes. I would look at your ingintion switch and it's wiring first.

Fuel pump relay. Yup, changed it. I'm waiting on word from my mechanic now on the reference sensors. Should be done tomorrow, if it isn't the ref. sensors, i'll def. point out the ignition switch.
Thanks!

One would think that a qualified mechanic should have figured out what the problem(s) may be.

Take it to a "qualified PORSCHE" mechanic. Most cars are much to specialized as it is. These are also. You should'nt have to point out anything to them. They should know the diagnostic procedures and find the problem pretty much on their own. IMO. ![]()

A BMW mech should have the same experiance on the Bosch injection system.
The "correct" testing procedure has been posted many times. Just need a test light. The importance is in the order you test/check.

Well by Porsche qualified mechanic...do you mean:
Here's my mechanic's description: Garage head mechanic is a PCA NNJR Driving Instructor / Seasonal Racer, can drop a 911 engine in about 20minutes from car, builds his own motors, has a 400hp 3.2L NA 911 track only. Mechanic working on my car has a 500+hp track only 951 race car. Has rebuilt his engine and various 944 engines... Now they are not a Porsche shop, they are a damn good regular garage near my house and are general auto mechanics, but they work on only their own Porsches and i'm real lucky to have them working on mine as a favor. I'm not the most mechanically savvy so I won't say too much more in case my wording or description doesn't give them enough justice. Diagnosing a no-start or stalling issue in a 21 year old Porsche takes time and in an 8-hour work day with cars needing oil changes, tune-ups, tire rotations, brake jobs, (some people actually take their cars in to have bulbs replaced), they knock those guy out first before they spend time on lengthy jobs like mine. I think their pretty qualified ![]()

Well then let's get you to do the twenty minutes of testing that will tell exactly where the problem is.

Ya know So. I'd like a pointer in the direction of where you've posted this. Especially if it can get me though it in 20mins and pinpoint the cause.
I'm not being smug here either. I trust you, so trust me and please direct me to that little jewel!!!
