Damn turn signals, i need help

OK. I've been w/o turn signals for a while now and I know I'm going to get creamed by some Stupid Ugly Vehicle one of these days.

When I bought my early 85 944 back in august I think. When I bought it the turn signals didn't work and I was told I needed to replace the relay. Right after I bought it it started working again and worked until sometime in December I think. A couple of weeks ago I replaced the relay and the things still don't work. If I turn on my indicator from inside the car the light switches on and is constantly on. Apparently the rear lights both come on and stay on too. I've just been told this by my wife so I don't know for sure. The hazards work fine.

Another thing is my reverse lights are out too. I replaced both bulbs because they burnt out. I haven't checked them again.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Sounds like a bad ground on the front turn signal lamps. When you turn on a signal and only one light works, the signals do not typically flash. Get the front light to come on and it will probably start flashing. You may just replace the front bulb and get them to work. If not and you have a volt meter, check to make sure you have twelve volts on the wire for the bulb in front by placing the positive lead on the wire and the negative on a known good ground, if you have twelve volts, start checking the ground of the light socket, if you do not, then start working your way backward including all fuses for turn signals and parking lights but I am guessing it's in the bulb or bulb socket ground. Hope this helps.

Well. I went a head and replaced front and rear bulbs even though they were working. All light up front and rear when they're supposed to. The emergancy flashers work. The parking lights work so I'm wondering if I got a bad relay from Porsche. Anymore sugestions would be great. Also anthing about the reverse lights too.

I had this problem very recently....Learn from my experience, i replaced my relay twice, fiddled with the switch, checked grounds at the light themselves and near the headlight buckets....I ended up dishing out a few $$ for a brand new switch from this great website. Problem solved.

Holy f***. $350 for a black one. Why is a brown one only like $100?

Hopefully it arrives.
Hopefully it is the right part.
Hopefully it is not also damaged.

German Auto Dismantlers is of......questionable reputation.

Use a CC, just in case.

OK. I got in a switch. Finally after a month and it's doing the same thing. The lights light up. The dash indicator lights up. Still no flashing. I don't get it. I replaces the relay and the switch. Does the switch actualy have anything to do with the flashing? Or just sending the signal. I need turn signals. Is there was way to test the switch and see if it's any good?

The relay does. Did you take the relay out and jumper it to see if it clicks? Did you check your grounds?
