Wipers work only on high. Not relay

My wipers all of a sudden now only work on the fastest speed. Do not return, or go any slower. I figured it was the relay. Ive parted out 2 other 944s so I had 2 used spare relays here. Tried them both & neither one seemed to have any effect. All did the same thing, only works on high. What else could this be besides the relay? I find it hard to believe that both spare relays I had are also bad. Please help.

Sounds like it is a faulty switch to me. Do you have a spare wiper arm and switch to throw in there too

You may have to take the wiper motor apart and clean the contacts on the large gear. These circular bands are what control the parking. There are berilium copper fingers that ride these contact bands. Can get a bit of grit between them and cause problems.

As to speeds; as noted above it is the switch that controls these.
