Hello everyone I have a 1986 944 that I have just put an engine in, and it’s running great and for only having $1000 in the whole car I am very happy with it. I really knew nothing about this car when I got it just that the engine was toast. I have come to learn that all of the out side stuff works (lights, turning singles every to pass inspection). The problem I have is that the dash lights are not working I am blowing fuse 11, sunroof does not work and clock and cig lighter are not working. Right now I am only worried about the dash lights right now so I can see how fast I am going at night. I want to start cleaning all the grounds but have only found the one in the hatch that controls the rear break lights (which after cleaning worked much better). Could anyone help me with locating the grounds?

The Grey and either Green or light blue Strip wires are the dash light wires. Brown for Ground. Many are Dazy Chained from one to the other gauge. Check for +12 on Switched on postion. There's a main Ground which I think on your 944 is under the Fuse/Relay box under the hood (Driver Side Firewall) Do your Open Door lights work? (overhead/trunk)
See here for Sunroof trouble shooting guide. Lotta stuff breaks on those over engineered junk. http://www.clarks-garage.com/ I think your fuse #11 is windshield wipers. Lots of problem with the switches themself going bad and needing replace on pre 85's. Not sure if same problem is there on yours. See link above to get you started on all these areas.
