Compression and Ignition Problem

I tested my compression last night and this is what i came up with:
starting with the cylinder closer to firewall:
155lb
180lb
195lb
200lb

This was after 5 turnover each time.

Now as for ignition, I tried to turn it over and car wouldn't start (this is after getting new starter, because old one was broken) I checked spark plugs for spark and got nothing from 2 i tested, so i ripped off my ignition coil and tested resistance between terminal 1 and 15 i got 0.9 ohms. then i did secondary test between terminal 1 and 4 and I got nothing at all except for black crap falling out of terminal 4 hole.

I really don't like the compression number on cylinder 1 but that shouldn't keep the car from starting. If you are getting spark from 2 of the plugs and not 2 others, the problem is probably not the coil. Try opening your hood at night and cranking it at dark. If you see a fireworks show under your hood, change your plug wires. Also check your rotor, dist cap, or plugs.

I've only tested 2 plugs not 4. as for the coil, I believe i should be getting a reading through secondary check and I was getting nothing at all

Isn't a compression test to be done with the engine hot? Your readings accurate using a cold engine?

yes it was done with cold engine, engine has not ran in over 2 years and right now i am not getting any spark and i suspect ignition coil. As when i performed a secondary check on ignition coil (terminal 1 and 4) i got no resistance whatsoever.

Looks like your main question hasn't been answered..
Ignition coil resistances:
Primary - 0.4 to 0.6 ohms
Secondary - 5 to 7.2K ohms

Hope it helps!

Might be worth investing in a new coil just to be sure. I certainly don't like it when black stuff starts falling out of them. Might be worth cranking it at night though just to see if you are grounding out the spark somewhere. Easy check and it costs nothing and you can do that while you are waiting on the new coil to arrive.

just open the hood at night and look while someone cranks your car.. you'll see sparks.

Make sure you look under the cables for those sparks. Basically what you are looking for is any place where the spark can leave the wire. I sometimes run my hands over them during the day but I hate that feeling of being shocked.
