Where (or how) to have injectors cleaned.

I have just aquired a set of fuel injectors and am wondering what the best way to go about having them cleaned out. Is this something that a reasonable service shop can do a good job on, or will flushing them out with throttle body cleaner work just as well. I want to get it right the first time before I put them in. Thanks in advance.

I sent mine off to get cleaned and mapped. This assures you that you are getting constant amounts of fuel to each cylinder and your engine runs much smoother. I sent them 8 injectors and they picked the appropriate four for me. I usually like doing my own work, but in this case I am glad I did it the other way. I will have to look up the name of the place that did it for me but I think it was witchhunter or something like that. I'll look that up and post back.

This is it:

Send them to witch hunter. I've sent them injectors from my 944 & other cars to have them cleaned. Price is very reasonable and the turnaround is usually a day.

Yeah, I think I'll send them, plus the ones on the car now, to be cleaned and have the best 4 matched. As for paint, I have some red high temp brake caliper paint I'll use. Then they'll match my ignition wires. I can't wait to see the final difference, since I have fixed just about everything else (TPS, AFM, O2 sensor, vacuum lines, J-Boot clamps, new plugs, ect). It's running better than ever, but is still just a little rough in the idle, and seems to behave as if an injector is leaking or something. Matched clean injectors should finish it up nicely.
It will be a week or two before I'll get a chance to send them out, but I'll post back with the results.

A lot of people here and rennlist push witchhunter, they sound like they do go work but I have heard horror stories. I took mine to a local diesel shop. Shop said they were leaking but I don't think they really were. I gave them to lart who in turn sold them for $150 so they must have worked.

Yeah, going by what's on their website, they look like they are a pretty serious performance shop, in which case I don't think I would even consider taking them anywhere else.

I've had good success personally. but I have heard others that said they didn't. I know that when I sent them mine they put on new seals and found one of the injectors had a crack and sold me a good one for $25. the thing I liked was they give you a print out of what your injector was like before & after the cleaning.

If you do send yours to them, would be interested in knowning what your numbers were to compare against mine after they were cleaned. Just to have a refrence.

Yeah, I'll post the numbers. I'm hoping to get it done in the next couple weeks, so stay tuned...

The marren place looks pretty good, but they are a bit more expensive...and a bit out of my price range for 8 injectors.
