Rough Idle Problem

My 89 944 NA runs great cold but as soon as it gets warm the idle drops so far the car would die if it wasn't given more gas. A month ago I replaced the fuel pump and the DME. I bought a Idle air control valve and it looks like a bear to replace. Could it ever be something easy??!!

There is a procedure on Clark's for bypassing the IAC and properly setting the idle screw. It takes just a few minutes, might help you.

Mine did this just prior to the cam tower seal failing. Check for leaks above the exhaust.
