Easy Way To Remove Rearview Mirror?

how do i remove the rearview mirror from the windshield?
there doesnt appear to be a set screw like on most other cars

No set screw or fastener. Rubber mallet and wood dowel. Tap upwards.

i am just about to do this so i can install a Homelink mirror with the garage door openers

as i understand it, this process is greatly facilitated by heating up the glue on the mirror mount first (like with a heat gun) - i think i am also going to squirt some carb cleaner in there to soften up the glue - that's what i use to remove glue - it should do a nice job of making this easier (carefully draping everything first of course)
