name that colour (mine..)

...advertising my 968, and trying not to make the colour sound completely wacky (aka Barney Purple ), I'm trying to find the 'proper' name for it. Nothing puts people off an ad like a weird colour.

hey, doesn't even have to be official, but does need to sound good: I'll kick off with RS Purple

It is surprisingly good-looking, though; who cares how the color SOUNDS? When people see the pics of the car, it will speak for itself.

If it were a little darker, "plum" would be a perfect choice.

That color looks more like a blue to me??

This is more what I'd call purple/eggplant (and yes, it did need a wash).

Color

I would call it "Custom Color" I think it looks great and would really stand out at events or in traffic. I would stop or turn around to look at it .

Looks like Amaranth Violet. The paint code is T3 or L39D. You'll see that on the options sticker in the inside of the back panel (next to the spare tire)

Ask over at the 968forums.com. They really know their stuff, but you will have to register first before you can post your question. But it is worth the time. Or try Rennlist.

It almost appears to look like a different color from different angles. Very striking!!!

Just wanted to let you know. Your exact car is owned by a fireman in the Cookeville Tn area. (minus the opposite side dash)
