Header panel and running power wires for mirror
Heya. The mirror in the 944 jiggles like a mutha and appears to have been run over at some point? It's all beat up and needs to be replaced badly. I was going to go ahead and put in an aftermarket one with the cardinal direction display, map lights and auto dim but need to run the power wires through the header panel. I cannot get the wires to fit between the roof and panel so I figure I will have to drill and put a plug in. Is there enough room between the roof and header panel to fit the wires or is it pretty snug? I haven't tried removing the panel yet as there is the possibility I could just remove it, slip the wires in then reattach. Any other ideas?

i just installed a homelink mirror with garage door remotes and compass - i dropped the header and a pillar pieces down, ran the wires, and reinstalled - no problem
side note: make sure you run your own switched power wire - tapping into the dome light causes the mirror to be "on" all the time, and will drain your battery VERY quickly |

Thanks for the heads up, I'll do just as you say.
