Cool Late Model Instrument Cluster On Auto and Manual the Same

Might pick a car at the junk yard 86 i think with looks like Original Fuchs on all fou corners but has the plastic over the instrument cluster busted and some of the Gauges have bent Needles. Can i just buy one from a car with automatic transmission or does it have to be standard transmission.

Thanks
J

PS: i realy want to buy it for the Fuchs on the car but another running 944 on the road would be nice

I'm pretty sure they're the same. only difference in gauges are the turbos, they have the new style dash and the 1987+ 944's have the newer style dash and the only difference there is the 'BAR' gauge in the tacho for the turbo boost.

So in other words, if the auto 944 has the same dashboard (1986 & lower) then yes,

Tach for the automatic cars has a display for gear selector (PRNDL) and 160 mph speedo. Other than that, they are the same.
