944 turbo header question

is it possible to put the headers back in without taking the cross over out? Is there a trick?

Yes, headers go in from the top. All of the studs have to be removed. Its a pain in the ass. I highly recommend disconnecting the motor mount on that side and carefully jacking up the engine slightly on that side. The few millimeters of clearance you gain here will make things much easier.
