Different front spindle clamp nuts???
Hi,
Apologies, I've posted this in another thread as well, but I'm in need of help. I've changed my front right spindle on my 924S for another (second hand) one. I've hit a problem - the clamp nut from the old one doesn't fit on the new one. Basically it's a bigger diameter and the thread is what I'd call 'finer' (there are more threads on a given length of nut). I didn't get a hub with the spindle, just the spindle itself. All the rest of it seems to fit fine - the brake mounting is in the same place, and the hub seems to be firmly on the spindle (though the washer that fits into the groove on the spindle has a larger inside diameter than the spindle which means it can move about a bit). I've looked at the Pelican catalogue and can see only one clamp nut. Do I have a spindle from an earlier/later car do you think? and what size etc clamp nut should I now be looking for? Thanks for your help - it all seemed to be going so well earlier. Mike |

Could it be a later model 944 spindle?
I think the 924S used the 924T & early 944 spindle. I think the 944 made a change, different wheel offsets, etc.
