Got the 944 running again after 6 years so changed about everything you
can except for the clutch

This year I'll remove my sunroof, weld in a new roof skin, and finally
install the rollcage

PS Happy new year to you all!

Changed the oil in August, cam tower seal blew September 5 and she caught fire. Since then I've only replaced the shift boot. She still runs, just not down the road.

Let's see, it's been a busy year.

I replaced an axle, then had to replace both axles when the one failed and picked up the power from the "replaced" defective one. THANKS NAPA! That was awful.

Replaced the starter (for the third time), after the slave and master cylinders failed and leaked onto the starter and fried it (or it was just coincidence...)

Bled air out of the cooling system that kept showing up; replaced thermostat. Also fixed the leaking power steering system while I was in there.

Did a little stereo stuff and tidying up.

Next year is another whole project. Replace timing belt/water pump, new tires, possibly fix the dashboard, do a little suspension work (bushing went AWOL, seems a little squishy in corners), and I also want to refurbish the wheels.

These cars are a labor of love for sure.

Last night (new year's eve), my list of things to do on the car in 2011 just went "ballistic". One thing that is guaranteed to be on it is:

Upgrade to larger fire extinguisher.

Using a factory delete skin? I have one in the garage, and would love to see progress pics of this.

Using a 924 donor roof

The car was originally delivered without a sunroof, but somewhere in
the 80's they decided it was cool to put in a Britax sunroof and somewhere
in the 90's they used a lot of silicone to keep it tight....

Lets see. I decided I was tired of looking at the pristine 944 just rotting in storage. Only put about 800 miles on her in the last 4 years.

-Pulled the intake to replace intake gaskets and while I was in there I replaced all rubber hoses and vac lines.
-New tires as the Kumho's were totally flat spotted.
-Replaced my leaking clutch master cylinder and did the slave for good measure. It does have 190k miles on it.

Now that she is all ready to drive, it is winter.
