try ********, or pelican if you want it fast. lol pelican will tell you exactly when it will arrive when you buy it. also they will drop the shipping to 3$ and refund the rest because it will fit in a small box. ******** is cool because they are local to me so I usually get my parts next day with ground shipping.

a BIG thanks to Jason (porschecidal_maniac) for helping me diagnose the problem over the phone. what a super nice dude. i owe ya one!
well, car started!! it was the top reference sensor! although it wasnt bad.. just loose. i think i must have accidentally pulled that wire just enough to break the connection when i was putting in plug #4. next question.. do the belts make any noise after initial installation that will go away? its making a medium high pitch noise that sounds like a belt (maybe a sign its too tight?) although i followed the directions for tighening to a T. or maybe this just sounds normal? ive only had my car for like 3 weeks so i cant say it sounds odd.. just dont remember if i heard that sound before. also, what is that ticking? man its always something with these cars.. lol here is the link: 1987 Porsche 944T - YouTube

AHA! So I'm not crazy after all! It was the ref sensor! Maniac helped me with my no start too, he's good people and he knows his stuff. Glad to hear its running again.
The ticking could be the fuel injectors, it will probably go away if thats it.

belt noise
there's quite a few methods of tightening belts. Some use fancy guages and some use the twist method. I prefer the latter. I just finished mine and since it's an 87, it has the spring loaded timing belt tensioner. I installed the belts and let the tensioner handle the initial timing belt loading. The balance belt I tightened to a point where I could barely twist it 180 degrees (one of the recommended methods). Then I turned the engine by hand three times back to tdc to recheck the tension. The timing belt actually came out to the recommended 90 degree twist. The balance belt was still a little loose so I readjusted it and then drove it for about 30 miles. I re-tightened the balance belt one final time, as it was a little looser than I felt comfortable with. No noise and the car runs fine. Planning on rechecking tensions again after about 1500 miles (recommended).
