Hi,

I don't know what engine job really means. What I would do to an engine for an overhaul include complete tear down, clean, inspect and re-assemble. All components must meet specification figure issued by the engine manufacturer. Those parts don't meet the stndard must be discarded or must be worked on in order to bring it to the spec.

You cannot just put new rings off the shelves, and expect the engine to run as new. It is not all that simple.

I have used this product Engine Restorer on the 924S I have when I bought it back in '99. The car was in rough condition then. I bought it from a girl through a friend of mine. I did not really look closely to check everyting. It was like gamble to me, and I am still trying to win. After I did that oil chenge, I checked for leak while engine is running. I found major leak then.

I fixed the major leak but still have minor one from other part of the engine. I figure it's no use putting the stuff in the case. I will leak soon. In a sense I used the product but not really.

Last year I checked the compressions, and they were 150, 150,160 and 156 psi, from #1 to #4 cylinder. I think the score is good. So I am not using it. But I know it worked on the Mazda and Toyota I had.

The product comes in a can and you shake it before you poure it in the crankcase. It seals the gap between rings and cylinders by filling scars due to normal ware. It looks like contain some sort of metal flakes. Some people say such product is not good for engine. All I know is it worked for me and never had oil related problem.
