Why does "P" call it "Guards" red?
Any body?
Or "Zermatt" silver, what ever happenend in Zermatt that's P car related? or "Zambizi" Green? any other pet color stories welcome, even clever fabrications. Matt |

The "guards" name comes from the color of the old English military coats.

Hard to believe the Germans would want to put anything on their cars referring to the Brits

IN FACT...
it actually refers to the RED of the coats of the British Guard in INDIA. (I'm not making this up) Makes sense since (sense since?) Guards and India Red are the same Porsche paint color. Interesting, no?

Wear a red uniform, stand out like a sore thumb, drive a red porsche, ditto. Mine is a nice shade of grey!
