You did remove the slave and move back the torque tube first, right? http://www.clarks-garage.com/shop-manual/clutch-01.htm

The top left torque tube bolt I do with a couple long extensions and a wobblie.

The top left bellhousing bolt (IIRC) you have to lower the engine to get to - you have the engine supported by a jack? Just lower it a bit and then the bolt is easy to get.

I use a bendable socket, and several feet worth of extension. I'm sitting in about the middle and right of the car, with the extensions crossing over the top of the torque tube to the left. Porsche replaced the 19mm head bolts with 17mm to give it more clearance. It can help to have a force pushing up on the front of the engine to tilt the back down, and give you more room. This will also make removing the bellhousing a breeze with that little bit of extra room.

I actually took the passanger side motor mount off when I did my clutch job a few months ago. I forget the reason why (could be so I was able to get the bell housing off, btu really forget), but made it easier to get to the upper 2 bellhousing bolts. Yes, I did have some support under the engine with the mount off. If your doing a clutch job,
bread to get the flywheel bearing out worked great for me. Pilot bearing removal- BREAD

Universal Metric socket and a couple of extensions.

Have you removed the reference sensors yet? Must come out to remove bell housing.

John where did you buy that 17mm flex socket? A friend lent me a Teng one to undo the torque tube bolts, then I returned it. When re-installing the engine I tried very hard to buy one(or even a set) without success-I ended up using every extension that I had and needed a second pair of handes to hold the contraption steady as I torqued the bolt up.. I will be in Florida in June and intend to try to get this very useful type of socket there.

Many places, probably Sears Craftsman is an easy choice to buy in FL.

I see them on eBay as well. Get the correct size or maybe a set.
