There's definitely a sweet spot when the car pulls nicely.

I will say if I am feeling rich and adventurous I definitely shift closer to 3k, I do love the engine sound and the power, I actually have pulled away from traffic a few times with minimal effort. However I love being economical, lol. The only gear you need to shift higher than the low 2k is into fifth

Explanation:
Your car is not used to the new fuel ratio and control. Try and clean your TB if you haven't.
Anything that has something to do with the Fuel/Air Mixture Ratio, You wanna make sure is working to the full potential.

Other then that, just drive it a couple times and see if it acts up anymore. If anything you should make sure you unplugged the Battery for a while. I would suggest 12 Hours. Or Over night so your Computer re-learns everything and re-learns your Rail/etc.

P.S. I would never use silicone Teflon of a sort. Just in my own opinion, the smoke was from the cleaner you sprayed. Was just burning off the motor.

To recap on what happened, the smoke was water from me spraying down the engine bay earlier in the day. I have four new rebuilt injectors on, the TB is very clean and I rebuilt it with the Arnnworx kit. (Spent hours cleaning and painting Tb and intake manifold). The problem was a combination of one, leaking fuel injector, two, ICV needing to burn off the stuff inside which happened after a day of driving and three, tapping the ICV one last time and making sure the connector was on tight. Currently my 944 is driving like a dream. :)
