Automatic transmission problem...Help please

I have a 1984 944 non turbo.
With normal driving acceleration, the 2nd to 3rd shifts at about 66kph.
I would like the trans to shift into 3rd under 60kph.
To get the trans to shift into 3rd at 60kph, I have to lift off the accelerator pedal for a second or two.

Is the shift point adjustable down to say 55kph?...if so how.

I cannot give you an answer.
The last automatic I worked on was an old Audi 450SL.

Here is the WSM automatic pages with topics that may help.

There is an automatic transmission trouble shooting page in the WSM.

I do not know of a way to change the shift points.
Check your transmission fluid level and the shift cable????

GL & welcome

No computer on the early 944.

No vacuum lines going to the trans on these, and no computer control.

Downshift cable adjustment. The thing is too tight. Adjustment is on the throttle cam. Haynes manuel has the instructions to set the cable. Nothing to it.
