twin cam head on single cam engine

like the title says...can it be done? im wondering what all would have to be changed over to make it work. can i put a 944S twin-cam cylinder head on my 83 944?

Like anything else - yes you can, easily or cheaply, no - there are too many things that are not in common between the two engines (DME, cooling system, belts/pulleys).

It would be cheaper to buy a whole S engine and drop that in.
