Rennbay has a nice power steering pump tensioner. I'm not sure if Travis made on for the AC compressor?

What's wrong with the factory adjuster?

I've got a monster adjuster design in my head, just no time to build it... But it'd be a heavy duty version of the Japanese-car favoured screw-type belt tensioner.

Just out of curiosity where is the room for improvement vs stock? AFAIK once it's set, its only design purpose is to be a rigid support.

i was selling them for the AC as separate items, but now only sell them as a part of the supercharger kit, because i didn't think the market was there.

i still have the power steering ones.

these are all for the 968. not sure if they are the same for the 944 or not.

Except that they are always bent and frakked up from bad mechanics, and require a ridiculous procedure to adjust. Thanks for playing.

I was looking for some I saw a while back with spherical ends. . .no need to loosen at pump and mount.

Takes a minute max to adjust? It's very easy to do. Would you like me to make a write up? Mine are not bent or "frakked" up from mechanics, as I am my 944's mechanic.

Everyone knows to loosen the pivot first and tighten last....most everyone.

you would be amazed at how many people fail to do that. i've seen so many AC compressors with broken ears or snapped off mounting bolts that it's just not funny anymore. was just dealing with a customer's car yesterday that had that problem.

i think the heim joint style would be the easiest solution, you can fit some boots over the joints to protect from dirt too

for added strength you could upsize the shank too. stock is like 8 or 10mm? wouldn't hurt to go to 12 or whatever.

oh, and make sure you loosen the AC compressor pivot/hanger bolts too

the ones i make use heims with fittings for grease. haven't had one go wrong yet, and it's been about 5 years.

the real key is to get away from the center link they use. it binds up too easily when corrosion gets in there.
