Mysterious option code 'N08' what does it stand for ?

I have a 944 from 1983, it has option code 'N08' (N zero eight) what does it stand for ?

I looked all over Google, but can't find any 'N' codes

Are you sure you have it right. Doesn't show up on the table...

My understanding of these alpha-numeric codes is that it indicates a package of options. I've seen these before, on various 944s.

Back then all the Porsche cars including US/Canada/Japan model had ZZZ on the chassis.

What are the letter after WP0 in the door VIN?

The first code C00 is not a familiar code- C02 is a 49 state car -C03 is a California emissions car - anyone know what a C00 is ?

I'm thinking like a lot of the other guys that a WPOZZZ suffix is not a US car.

As an owner of a ZZZ VIN, it is non US, though you may see ZZZ on US bodies #s but not VINs.

C00 is the Country of origin, West Germany back then.

ZZZ on the chassis means nothing...

ZZZ on the door VIN in position 4, 5 and 6 means the car is RoW

US/CDN/Mexico/Japan/Switzerland car will have ZZZ on the chassis but some thing like EA0 or EAO on the door VIN.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_VIN_numbers

Extract from the above link:

Vehicle Specification for USA etc (positions 4, 5 and 6)[edit]
VIN has been implemented differently in two regions, they consist of the following countries:-

]USA etc. = USA, Canada, Mexico, Japan and Switzerland.

RoW = Rest of world. (i.e. everywhere except USA, Canada, Mexico, Japan and Switzerland.)

Vehicle Specification for "USA etc" is a 3 character code giving details of the body type, engine, seatbelts and airbags fitted.
