I'm a newbie here, beginning refurbishment (not restoration) of a 1982 924 base.
The car runs, for which I feel fortunate, but some electrical things work, others don't, which is not surprising, of course. 1. Tachometer is not working, any advice on where to start on that? 2. Odometer/tripmeter not working. 3. Turn signals only work intermittently, I suspect oxidized contacts, but hoping someone here has a thought on that. 4. Windshield wipers and windows (electric) are _extremely_ slow. I'm delighted they work at all, but the wipers are soooo sloooow, they prohibit driving at all in the rain. Any ideas on these electric system fixes/improvements? Thanks!!! |

THE best board is 924.org.
I have owned a 77.5 & a 79 924. Begin by cleaning every ground on the engine and body. Update the battery cables to a thicker wire. Clean every fuse and relay contact. Have the alternator checked and replace the voltage regulator---use only OEM parts. Clean front and rear turn signal contacts. Become a member of 924.org GL J_AZ
