Replaced your carpet?? How is best way to do it??also sourcing interior bits...lol

Im thinking about freshening an old 928's interior which started with dash replacement (bought one from CL for 25.00 from trucking company lost shipment deal) and now carpeting. I was thinking about cutting new carpet using my old carpet pieces as a template unless theres a good inexpensive kit?? The car is an old 84 that will never see any serious value but whats there is embarrassing and rotted. Anyone have any experience in this arena as Im new to the Porsche stuff. Im also looking for black door panels and posssibly seats if anyone knows where they are...??? Anyone got any black bits to compliment what I dont have? PM's here are best. TIA

Yes, that is a good deal, from a reputable 928'er. Too bad there isn't a few more color options with that.

The trick with carpet is to make it form to the shape of the car, and thats what the factory type carpet Sliverknit does really well. Its wool though, and water messes it up. I was thinking about taking mine out and seeing if a dry cleaner or rug cleaner could perk it up. Otherwise I think its the Leathershop and new carpets plus new Lloyd's floor mats. Eventually your going to have some real money in these cars, why not have the best for your feet?

Or just find somebody farther down the pier than you are and buy their old carpet.

Lots of stuff you are not going to want to ship, so best put some idea of your location and model year of your car in either a sig or the profile that shows next to messages.

FWIW, I'd rather do a TB job that a carpet change.
I just got off the phone with John from Original Fit Interiors. He quoted me $250 for the same carpet kit. A heck of a better deal. I will go with them. Here is their phone number: 541.459.1700

Porsche Crest

Great timing on this post. I just ripped the interior out of the 928 i'm restoring for a customer today, and i was wondering where i could get all the things necessary to bring it back to life. I'll start a 928 restoration thread in the next day or so
