Wait until its about to rain, then it should open fine, just not close. Thats how mine works anyway.

Put a meter on the motor terminals and press the switch.

General rule on the 928, check the relay, then fuse, most of the time those are bad, but the switches for windows etc. go bad as well. Unfortunately its not unusual for more than one thing to have failed.

Did you follow the link on Roadfly?

you didnt say, but im assuming the motor was not working at all? seems like i have seen several issues with the transmission...if the motor is not working at all, like dangler said check to see if it's getting power (fuse, relay, switch). my window switches were bad and one of the motors was siezed up

Just finished an R&R on my non-opening Sunroof, I will give you a play by play and hope it helps.

1. Check the fuse, easy.
2. Check the switch, you can swap with your window switch (that is known to work I hope), pull the cover of the motor and tranny and listen for the click when you hit the switch.
3. Pull the motor and clean, if it is known to be good.
4. If the fuse is good and the switch engages the motor which will spin the tranny, next you have to remove the sunroof. This is a good link:

Your WSM should have pics also.
You will have to get the sunroof open a bit to remove it, that could be an issue if it is stuck. If so, get the manual tool and try it that way.

With the sunroof out..............clean and lube and make sure the parts are in correctly............this is where I had my trouble, the PO had put the guide shoes in wrong, so while the motor pulled the shuttle, it would not catch the guide and pull the roof back

Lots of good links out there, search the forum also, I think this has been covered before.

Good luck!
