Well...............
I did the water thing. Sucked about .8 liters into it. It burns water well, not a speck of white smoke. ????? Didn't seem to care that it was on an IV. After I was done, I hooked everything back together, let it come down to idle speed and it ran for about 45 seconds and then died. Just like before. Tried also to run some Carb cleaner after that and same results. I put insurance on it for tomorrow and Saturday just in case so I am going to do the "italian tune up" anyways, since it will always restart when it dies. I will just get out on the highway where I don't have to stop for a light. |

Some people have had success freeing up a sticky ISV with WD-40. In this case you are using the WD as a solvent rather than a lube, so be liberal with it. Won't make any difference if the problem is elsewhere though.
Another thing you could try is re-seating the chips and connectors in the LH/EZK boxes(also see if they are 3rd party chips). If that fails maybe send them to one of the rebuilders like John or Rich and have them check them out. |

![]() Well I did as Mike suspected and Lizard said to. I drown the ISV first with water (no smoke, imagine that) and then with carb cleaner and then some WD-40. Then did the Italian tune up part. It has pretty much fixed it 95%. Obviously I will need to assault the ISV later (TB and WP first) but it runs like it did before. Stalled once on me at a light with the A/C running but it always starts right up and then it gives you another reason to punch it off the light. Thanks to all who suggested stuff for this. In the end it may have been the ISV clogging up from me doing what I thought was good thing and that was to start it a couple times in the winter. This car probably doesn't like that. If your are going to start me, DRIVE me! Needing an MAF and an O2 sensor at the same time didn't help the diagnosis any and this does not show up on a Bosch Hammer, just in case you ever have the same issue. Now for the TB..... |

thanks for the offer, but I could never get away to drive there during the summer, I'm in new home construction and it's rocking again.
There is an excellent write up by Pirtle? and I am comfortable doing that. Fixing things is not the problem, it was figuring out what to fix! |
