Rear lid unlocking device

Hi all

I have a question regarding the adjustment of the Rear lid unlocking device.
I have to put a new electric engine and adjust it all over again.
The problem is that I am not sure how this device unlocks the rear lid...
My assumption is that the unlocking cam should be hidden when the device in it's default position. then, when pressing the button to unlock the rear lid, the unlocking cam moves to horizontal position and presses on the upper lock section and this action releases the rear lid door.

Am I correct?

The other problem and more tricky one is that the rear lid door is not closing correctly. It does get locked but the back lid door stands out...I have no idea why since nothing is bent...this problem also affects on the unlocking device since the unlocking cam doesn't reach the lock

Can anybody help me with this combined problem

Thanks.

You are correct in your assumed operation.

Sounds like an alignment issue for the hatch. Any misalignment will cause issues impeding full closure. Some new hatch receivers were poorly manufactured and need tuning see posts by ROG100 on rennlist for details - if you bought a new reciver recently this is quite possiby your issue

First remove the bottom reciever - does the hatch mate correctly then to the right height. If yes add the reciever back with mounting screws loose - allow it to self position - if this still doesn't work adust the top tongue position until it can. Then as a 2 man job 1 lay in the hatch & hold receiver location fixed while the other carrefully opens the hatch (then tighten it into place). Don't worrry about the release mechanism until the hatch latches correctly & smoothly where you need it to.
