Has anyone one done LEDs for our instrument display similar to this thread for 911s?

I believe there have been several threads about this. The problem is that with the older cars ('78-88), the illumination is accomplished by means of three fiber optic wedges that "guide" the light to the appropriate places. If you merely replace the incadescent bulb with an LED, it doesn't work well since LED's are focused and gnerally not directed to the appropriate area of the fiber optic wedge. (Trust me, I tried every manner of LED to try to get it to work) The only solution I found that works acceptably is the Jager illumination kit that Nicole sells. This kit replaces the original fiber optic wedges with wedges that have a directed LED built in. It is an easy install and works quite well.
In the newer cars with a digital dash, it's no big deal to illuminate with LED's. Just replace the bulbs with an LED that fits and check the polarity. I also replaced all my warning lights on the Stepson with LED's. I really don't recommend that at all. PITA!!
