1983 928S makes noise when turning right
Any idea what would cause this. The power steering pump is working and it doesn't make noise when it's turned to the left. It just started it a week ago. I looked under the car and everything looks okay. The boots to the rack are in good shape. The belt to the power steering is the correct tension and the reservior is at the right fill capacity. Anyone had anything like this before? It's just a light surging kinda sound that I can feel in the steering wheel. It's not really bad or loud. It doesn't keep me from driving the car. It's just a little annoying and worrisome because I've never had a problem like this with a 928. Thanks

Does it do it when moving or have you tried it in a parked position? Try and determine if it is a linkage problem or something in the power steering rack. You might want to jack up the front and try turning with the motor off and see if you feel any binding. Any bubbles in the fluid like strawberry cream soda? Any leaking hoses?

No bubbles in the reservior. I don't think there is a leak, but if there is it isn't bad enough to leak anywhere in any amount. It does it when I'm moving or not moving, with the engine running but only when turning to the right. Turning to the left feels fine under any condition. I'll put the car on jack stands and check the steering in a day of two. Thanks for the ideas.
