fender mod
Going to get my rockers repainted soon, they are all chipped up, and have a guy who works at a body shop who can do it in his spare time, he live right next door so it should work out pretty well. .
I was curious if anyone has a good spot to get rear fender flares, so i can fit wider wheels on this car. I saw a post last year, where a guy had done it and it looked sharp, but I don't think he has been on the board in a while. I pm'd him before but never hear back Last year a bought a set of HRE 3 piece 10 inch wide rears, that woulda looked dope, but could not have fit with out fender mod..

I also seem to remember (a few years ago) I saw a guy use a wooden dowel to roll his rear fenders to flare them, but, I totally forgot who it was, and I certainly can't find the video anymore...
It was a Red 928.....An S4 I believe.

If you are an OC member, I believe the OC has a fender flaring tool for loan. Check out the OC web forum

I have seen that, there was a guy with a red s4, or gt who did it in a garage... I started doing it last year, and you have to go up behind the fender, and snip the metal where it returns back toward the car. It sucks, and when you try to roll, cross your fingers and hope the paint does not crack on the corner.. Mine started to a little bit, and i aborted mission right away.
I would like to do an extended flare, 2-4 inches, bonded to the car, and have someone fade the paint in nicely I don't mind spending a little on it, I would like to see the rear end a little wider.

Then you should probably buy Rob Roy's Louis Ott fender flares (on another forum)

How big do you want on the back? I used to run 17 x 11 rim on the rear with 275/40 tires under stock fenders. Sound like you just need wheels with the right offsett

Should be called the fender circumference lip faring.
No way your going to get into GTS territory.

I started to watch this video, in the first 30 seconds I knew there was going to be trouble. They seem to be enjoying themselves, is it even their car?

That video is done by Andrew Olsen. He knows what he's doing and I would trust my cars to him anytime.
I have seen fender rollers. I THINK Harbor Freight has one. You can roll some but if your looking for a major roll...it will require replacement.

Process looked fine, but wouldn't you want to warm up the paint prior to doing this? At least that is what I would do. The results came out great though.

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend anyone.
Just because I don't have the guts to do it myself does not mean someone else couldn't do this fender mod. and make it look good. |

No offence taken.
![]() I did not mean to come off sounding like there was any. I remember seeing this video when it was new. Lots of guts giving that a try. I would have cracked the paint on mine for sure.
